Fort Huachuca Youth Sports & Fitness Summer Camp
Cost: $35 per week / per participant
Ages: 6-17, must be registered with CYS
Low-cost half-day camps from 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM with weekly themes including soccer, basketball/volleyball/flag football/wiffleball, cooking, volleyball, and racket sports.
Note: requires CYS registration, current sports physical, and base access/logistics.
Child and Youth Services (CYS) at Fort Huachuca is a comprehensive department providing child care, educational programs, and recreational activities for children (6 weeks to 18 years) of military and authorized civilian families.

The Cove Youth Swim Lessons
Cost: $55 per youth, includes eight 30-minute lessons

American Red Cross-style swim lessons at The Cove, with summer sessions in June and July. Kids 8 and older need a swim evaluation before registration, which is a good little gatekeeper against “surprise deep-end kraken” moments.
City of Sierra Vista Beginner to Advanced Archery Classes
Cost: $55 per person / session
Ages: 10 to adult
Saturday archery sessions at the Sierra Vista Archery Range. Basic archery covers safety, form, equipment, aiming, release, and shot sequence. Advanced archery is for students who completed the basic class or already have experience. Summer-relevant sessions include May-June and July-August.

The library provides free services to Cochise County residents, and 211 Arizona lists a summer reading program for children among its offerings. This is one of the best “free summer anchor activities” because it can pair with regular library visits, prizes/reading goals, and other library events.

Southwest Wings Programs / Birding Festival Activities

Southwest Wings offers birding/nature education around Sierra Vista, including programs about native species, bats, butterflies, insects, and migratory wildlife. Good add-on for curious kids who like outdoors, animals, photography, or science without signing up for a full camp.

A 280-acre nature preserve known for birds and wildlife. Not a camp, but an excellent summer activity for kids who enjoy hiking, nature journaling, photography, or “let’s find weird tiny creatures and pretend we’re field scientists.”

San Pedro Bird Walk

"Among Us" In Real Life at Sierra Vista Public Library

After hours live-action version of the popular social deception game Among Us! Players will randomly draw roles as crewmates or impostors. Crewmates will work to complete quick, simple tasks around the library while avoiding elimination. Imposters try to sabotage and eliminate players without being caught.
